Dr. Haentges received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Health Studies from the University at Buffalo. He graduated in 2016 from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine with a minor in Pediatric dentistry and electives in sports dentistry, forensic dentistry and esthetic dentistry, and with certification in the use of diode lasers.
Dr. Haentges completed a year-long Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Stratton-Albany Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Albany, NY. In addition, he has had training in placement of both conventional and mini-implants. He has been practicing in the Southern-Tier for about 6 years now.
Dr. Haentges lives with his wife, Sherilyn, and their three children, Elorah, Autley and Taysum. They also have a dog, a Shi-Tzu baby boy (He's 7), Rigby.
Dr. Haentges will be offering dental treatment to patients at the Elmira office in all areas of general dentistry, including CEREC same-day crowns, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, and SureSmile orthodontics.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the 7th District Dental Society, and the New York State and Pennsylvania Dental Associations.
Dr. Alan J. Seltzer has been practicing dentistry in Elmira New York since 1979. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Dental Society of the State of New York, The Sixth District Dental Society of New York State, and the Chemung County Dental Association. He has been an Associate member of the American Academy of Periodontology for over 30 years. He is a graduate of: Ithaca College (BA Biology) The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (DMD), and the University of Rochester’s Eastman Dental Center (General Practice Residency in Dentistry). Dr Seltzer graduated The University of Pennsylvania with honors. He was awarded the prestigious Henry Goldman award in Pathology. He has served as a clinical Instructor at the University of Rochester’s Eastman Dental Center.
Dr Seltzer is on the Medical Staff of both the Arnot Ogden Medical Center and Saint Joseph's Hospital in Elmira. He has been the dentist on the Cleft Palate Team at Saint Joseph's Hospital for over 30 years.
Dr. Seltzer is actively involved with, and supports, a variety of local community groups and volunteer organizations. He lives in the neighborhood, and frequently bicycles to the office. He is married to Susan and they have three children.
